A Fiery Twist - October poetry

Hey or HAY howdy hey! LOL
Time for our monthly edition of the poetry challenge. This months theme is Corn Mazes and BonFires. Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen doesn't it?

At the end of this post you'll find links to the others. Stop by and read their twist on our theme.

A Fiery Twist
corn stalks in rows
cut down it shows
go this way
no that
oh dang and drat
the trail ends
again we begin
winding and twisting
to find a path
that leads us out.

We made it through
the maze was a blast
but oh no
what is that?
A blaze we see
smoke rising
but wait it's laughs
not shrieks
but fun and glee
it's a bonfire we see

whew, that could have been bad
but oh man am I glad

someone hand me a s'more!

  1. Phew, you had me nervous for a minute there, with fire and all that corn, I was thinking corn would be popping all over the place . . . someone could put an eye out.
