Kicked up chicken rub and SSS April 2017

Kicked up chicken rub with fresh asparagus and baby Yukon potatoes, sounds good doesn't it? It was delicious!
For the rub I used 1 teaspoon of each of the following spices:
black pepper
red pepper
white pepper
Then rub the boneless skinless chicken breast on each side, sautee with coconut oil for about 4 minutes per side or until done. Serve with fresh baby asparagus and potatoes or whatever you like.
Packed full of flavor, no fat, no guilt.
Kevin woke up and noticed the house was unusually quiet. He expected all sorts of noise with everyone getting ready for their annual Christmas trip. He stretched and got out of bed. Walking down the hall he saw no one, heard nothing. He called out "MOM, DAD?" still nothing, panic began to set in, he raced down the hall bursting into each room, no one, no where, he cautiously knocked on Bud's door then threw it open, empty! ARRRGGGHH
HOME ALONE again????
HOW, just HOW did they do this three years in a row???
At first he was upset, then scared, then...oh wait, alone, quiet, no ONE to boss him around, pick on him, make him eat vegetables but wait, he must keep a low profile, he knew his parents would realize their mistake soon enough and back the entire clan would be. sigh...
He went to the kitchen, not much to choose from since mom had not been shopping lately "we must use up everything we have so it won't go bad while we're gone" he remembered her saying.
The neighbors all knew they would be gone, so if he was out and about they would call the authorities. So he would have to pick the perfect time to go out.
He scrounged around a found enough junk to keep him happy for the day.
Up to his room to eat popcorn in bed and watch his favorite movies.
Bouncing on the bed.
Dancing in his underwear.
Yes, he did enjoy it when they left him, except at night. Nighttime was the most difficult and scary.
After eating junk all day Kevin was really wanting some "food" but he knew better than to go to the grocery store. Now how... how would he get food? Night time was upon him and he dressed for a sneaking around. Dark clothes, flashlight in hand and out the back door, over the fence and through the neighbors yard. Once he was safely on the other side of the neighborhood he tried to figure out his next move.
Wait, there were three paths here. He never knew this. "I wonder where they all go?" he thought the middle one was best, it looked less worn so he started off. It began to get spooky, the clouds covered the moon, the wind blew and he swore he heard wolves!
Coming around a bend he smelled the most delicious odor, brownies, cakes, fresh bread! Oh man. A cabin made entirely of candy! He began to run toward the smell with no concern for what he might find. He stopped short at the sight of a candy fence, gingerbread barn, marshmallow  fluff dripping from the trees. Fresh bread was sitting on the window sills and a big flashing sign that said "welcome all boys and girls" WOW!!
He ran up and yelled "HELLO" while grabbing a small loaf of banana bread. Oh man this was good!
A small girl came out, "hi" and she smiled.
Kevin said "HI my name is Kevin, oh man I'm sorry, I'm hungry and this smelled so good I couldn't help myself."
She giggled, "it's okay, everyone is like that."
Kevin thought she looked familiar but didn't worry with it, he continued with the bread. She looked at him and asked if he'd like to stay for dinner. Of course he said yes. She told him she had a beautiful stew going with cake and ice cream for dessert. He could smell the stew, his stomach growled and she smiled.
Inside the delicious little cabin there was candy, cakes and pies all over it was hard to focus on one thing. He did keep hearing a banging noise but dismissed it.
After eating he was so full and sleepy, he just could not keep his eyes open, he would faze out and when he'd open his eyes he thought he had been moved but was too sleepy to care.
Suddenly he was warm, no HOT, oh man, burning up! He forced his eyes open and tried to see but it was dark, he could smell something cooking but didn't like the smell, it was very disturbing. He could hear muffled cries, he tried to move but was tied! WHAT THE HECK was going on???
In a panic he struggled, wiggled and try as he might he could not get loose. From the heat and exhaustion he passed out.
Some hours later a cool feeling was washing over him, he struggled to open his eyes, there was a sweet face. His MOM! He sat up and wrapped his arms around her crying OH MOM MOM it was awful! This girl tried to cook and eat me!
Bud picked up a copy of "Hansel and Gretel" from the bed and said "You dork, you were dreaming, some fairy tale SCARE the little boy?" and everyone laughed.
Kevin didn't even care, he was home, safe and with his family.
The end~
