Grit Bowl

We really enjoy breakfast and my husband loves his sausage and bacon. However, pork is not the cleanest of meats to be eating.

Recently while at the store I saw a new product. Smithfield "all natural" pork breakfast sausage.

I thought, what the heck, I'll give it a try.

The sausage does not smell like regular, it smells clean if that makes sense. The taste is not as strong, sort of bland actually and had way less fat.

I cooked this with sweet salad peppers, onions, smoked paprika, a little garlic and fresh cracked pepper. I then scrambled eggs into it with a 1/4 cup of shredded cheese and served it over creamy grits.

Simple, filing and satisfying.
