Ghost, Gobblins and Dessert OH MY

How about a yummy cookie? Not spooky, not gross, just sugar packed and delicious!

Chocolate Fudge Cherry Chip Chocolate Frosted Cookies
  • 1 cup cherry flavored chips
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup + 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • Allow the butter to soften and almost melt, place in a bowl with eggs. Stir well and add the dry ingredients. Mix until it is a thick fudgy mix. Drop by the spoonful onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. allow to cool and frost.
  • I used Pillsbury classic milk chocolate frosting.
My wonderful fearless leader Karen of Baking in a Tornado decided we should do a Halloween poetry post and expand/test/try our writing skills. I love our Friday post... Fly On The Wall, Secret Subject Swap, Use Your Words, Funny Friday and now...Halloween Poetry? Hmmm I'm not a poet and I know it! LOL but it was fun. Be sure to check out the other talented writers as I'm sure their's will be far more like "real" poetry than mine.

HALLOWS EVE
AND SPOOKS ABOUND
LEAVING HAVOC IN THEIR WAKE
LEAVING CHILLS ON THE LAKE
WITCHES
EYE OF BATS
EAR OF RATS
NOSE OF NEWTS AND

PIERCING HOOT
OWLS IN THE NIGHT
EVERYONE IS SCARED OF THE
MAN IN THE MOON

CHASING SHADOWS
HEAR THE SCREAMS?
ARE THEY REAL? SO IT SEEMS
LEAVE THEM BE
LAUGHS THAT HAUNT
EACH ONE THIS
NIGHT
GHOST ROAM FREE ON THIS HALLOWS
EVE NIGHT

  1. Forget the poem - where do I get ahold of those cookies? I might be happy about cherry flavored chips alone!

  8. I am SO making those cookies for my daughter's birthday in two weeks! Mmmmm! I'll probably use B&J Cherry Garcia ice cream to make ice cream sandwiches with em. That poem was perfect for sharing with the kiddos and "acting" out, we had a lot of fun with it!
