No Machine No Dairy Ice Cream AND Secret Subject Swap-April 2014

Happy Friday everyone! Don't you just love Fridays? I do, one it is the weekend and two it is a writing challenge day! First Friday is Secret Subject Swap, second Friday is Use Your Words and third Friday is Fly On The Wall. YES, I love these days and we can all THANK Karen from Baking In A Tornado for being our fearless leader and brain child behind them all.

I like to toss in a recipe as well, today I'm sharing a great simple dessert. That's right a dessert, and it is healthy. Oh don't make that face, healthy can be good too. I promise.

I have made healthy ice cream before, but with a machine. Did you miss it? Here it is: Chocolate Chip Coconut Ice Cream

How about ice cream? I mean, who doesn't love it. I see you, there's that face of skepticism again. Yes, healthy ice cream and with NO machine! Not everyone has an ice cream machine, so this one I made with the food processor, you could also use a blender.

Strawberry Ice Cream (NO machine and NO dairy)
1 cup strawberries, washed and cored
1/2 - 3/4 Greek yogurt
1/2 almond milk
*if you need it, sweetener like Stevia or honey 1-2 tsp

Place all items into your food processor or blender, blend until smooth. Now pour into a freezer safe container. Chill for at least an hour. Dip and serve!
How simple was that? You could also use any fruit or mix them for a delightful blend. (If you prefer you can use milk and a banana)
I drizzled honey on top and some of my Pecan Cinnamon Granola.

ENJOY!

Welcome to a Secret Subject Swap. This week, 14 brave bloggers picked a secret subject for someone else and were assigned a secret subject to interpret in their own style. Today we are all simultaneously divulging our topics and submitting our posts.

It's April Fool's. You have to do a reverse prank (do something that people would think was a trick, but it really wasn't). What would you do? It was submitted by: http://themomisodes.com

Well, here it is, April Fool's Day again. My boys are famous for their pranks and my husband loves to get in on it. This year slipped up on him and he missed it. But not for long.

Instead of pranking me, he decided to use his cousin as his pawn.
She decided at 9 p.m. at night to change her Facebook status to "in a relationship" but no name.

Of course, this caused a stir among family and friends wanting to know "who" she was seeing and why they hadn't met him yet.

My husband gets on her Facebook, pretending to be her and says "what makes you think it's a he"

You have to understand, we currently live in a  TEENY TINY town in South Georgia, this idea of "not a he" is a big deal and a HUGE no no. We are used to seeing all types together, being military and living in a town with almost a half million folks. Well, here where there are less than 9 thousand, no so much!
Her FB was blowing up!

It was funny to read the comments and reactions. Thankfully no one was mean or ugly but you could read the shock in their comments.

Pranks can go horribly wrong if you're not careful.

Years ago a friend of mine, who was single, put her status as "I'm expecting" she of course did not think she was, as she was not in a serious relationship but was seeing someone.

Well, karma bit her in the butt. A month later, she found out she was pregnant and had been on April Fool's Day. SO the joke, was not a joke after all. Today she has a precious little girl that is the light of her life and each April she is reminded of that prank, that turned out to be real.

So word to the wise, be careful what and who you prank, it might come back to get you.
