If you've been around much you know I participate in #FlyOnTheWall posts, #SecretSubjectSwap and other recipe challenges a month.
Now Karen over at Baking In a Tornado came up with a new one. Use Your Words. See how I used my 6 words to create a tale or is it?
Today’s post is a writing challenge that I hope you find as much fun to read as it was to write. This is how it works: participating bloggers picked 4 – 6 words or short phrases for someone else to craft into a post. All words must be used at least once and all the posts will be unique as each writer has received their own set of words. That’s the challenge, here’s a fun twist; no one who’s participating knows who got their words and in what direction the writer will take them. Until now.
At the end of this post you’ll find links to the other blogs featuring this challenge. Check them all out, see what words they got and how they used them.
I’m using: Attack ~ Cayenne ~ expiration date ~ ice rink ~ fox ~ accomplish
They were submitted by: http://thethreegerbers.
One day, not that long ago, I was visiting a friend. Her daughter is an ice skater and was having practice that day. I decided to tag along to the ice rink with them to see what all the fuss was about.
You see, the daughter Jill, had been telling me about this fox that was assisting the coach now. She was all in a titter.
When we got there, the girls all but attacked the poor lad! I started to yell LOOK OUT but didn't want to totally embarrass them all, at least not yet.
I watched as practice went on and saw that Jill had indeed improved and was about to accomplish a hard task, a triple axle. Wow, to see her attack the ice and the routine was really something else. I think she found her calling.
When she did it, the young fox, uh I mean assistant gave her high praise. She looked at him like he was the best thing since sliced bread. You remember those guys, hot hot hot , like a cayenne pepper hot. At least to a 15 year old girl whose hormones are raging anyway.
She has been one to pull some pretty mean practical jokes over the years and I've always told her, "you reap what you sow" but she always blows it off.
Well, that day at the ice rink, one of the girls decided to pay her back for some pranks in the past.
She said to the fox, assistant, while Jill was standing there. Oh, Jay, Jill thinks you're a hot cayenne pepper, a real fox!
OH MY GOSH, I thought Jill had hit her expiration date! She turned red, then green, then white. I thought she was not long from leaving this world.
But to everyone's surprise, he laughed and said "yeah?, well she's pretty darn cute herself"
WOW, talk about backfire!
We left the ice rink that day with Jill walking on air because a fox thought she was hot as a cayenne pepper too! And that meant more to her at the moment than her new triple axle that she was able to accomplish that day. She did not hit her expiration date, instead she was fresh and renewed!
She laughed, HA that will teach her to try and attack me!
Oh, teenage girls and their drama....
